Today I shall be sharing with you; the three secrets on how to get anything you want through persuasion but before we go on to learn these secrets, it is important to understand what exactly ‘Persuasion’ means.

Meaning Of Persuasion

Persuasion is nothing but the influence that you have on a person or how well the other person is convinced by you. In layman terms, let’s say that I have an idea and I want you to agree with me; and you happen to agree with me, so that means I have successfully persuaded you. It’s as simple as that.

Imagine how powerful this can be in business when your prospects come to you and they agree with you. Think about this; if you’re really able to persuade everyone in your family, your loved one, your spouse, your kids, your brother or sister, whoever it is, just imagine how deep that relationship would be and how much more happy you would be in life. Now, what if you are able to persuade your colleagues, your peers or even your boss and you keep growing in your career because of this, how much more money you would make. Hence, persuasion is the number one skill I encourage each and everyone to learn.

1. CARE:

Firstly, prospects don’t care what you have to offer to them, unless they know you ‘care’ for them. So in business when prospects come, a lot of times people just want to sell. That’s fair enough; they can and should sell but they forget to actually care for the prospects and understand why the prospect is really there.

Imagine you have gone to buy a particular thing and people don’t care about what you want, they just want to sell something to you. How would you feel? You might mostly say that you don’t want to be there and you want to buy somewhere else, right? So that is why, the number one secret is ‘Care’. It is the key factor in allowing people to know you care for them, so they open up and when they open up, you keep in mind the second secret.

2. CONNECT:

So, the second secret is ‘Connect’. Prospects always want to connect more with you. When you connect with your prospects more and more your relationship becomes so deep.

Now, let’s look at an example. In your family when there’s someone you really care about, there comes a special moment and you buy a gift. But it’s not just any gift. You really think about what gift you want to buy this time because every gift has a different meaning. So, different people want a different type of gift because they connect with that gift in a different way. So it’s the same thing with your prospect. When they come to you and they know you care for them, you will observe that different prospects want to be connected in a different way.

If you go to everyone and say “Hey welcome and today this is what i have to offer…” with a lot of excitement, they’re going to be like “Wait, hang on! This guy is just another salesperson.” You need to understand that sometimes people want low energy, sometimes people want high energy, sometimes people want facts and sometimes people don’t want any facts, so which one is it? Hence, you need to connect with different prospects, differently.

3. COLLECT:

So, the third secret is ‘Collect’. Many times in business you’ll see people, they care a lot, they connect a lot and then they give everything for free but they forget to ask for the sale. In business nothing happens until a sale is made. Now, how do you collect the money? How do you get your prospects to pay for you? How do you get your boss to ensure you are able to collect that pay rise? That’s a very important step in closing any deal. You need to be able to convert that prospect into a client, collect and make that sale happen.
