There’s a huge difference between when you ‘play to not lose’ and when you ‘play to win’. So which one are you doing? Are you playing not to lose or are you playing to win? When do you decide which strategy to use?

Play Not To Lose:
Now, let’s say you choose “I play not to lose!” So, what does that mean? In this case, when you’re given a certain chance, you’re telling your mind that you don’t want to lose! Right?
In this situation, you actually determine all the ways that might go wrong and you try to fix each one of them… so that you don’t lose. So what exactly is this telling your mind?
Your mind is looking at all the negative aspects that can go wrong and it’s telling you to play only not to lose! Your mind doesn’t care about winning!
Play To Win:
Whereas when you choose “I play to win!”, you’re looking at the complete opposite. In this situation, you’re looking at what you can do to really just succeed! Losing is not even an option you see?
If you’re faced with an obstacle, you ask yourself “What can I do to win?” Your mind tries to think of all the different ways to actually overcome that obstacle and win!
In this situation, you actually determine all the ways that might go right and you try to choose the best path between them… so that you can succeed. Your mind only shows you ways for winning!
What Will You Choose?
So, if you’re playing to lose and you’re only focusing on the negative aspects, then there’s no chance that you’re going to win. You’re not even thinking about winning! So the point is if you focus on playing not to lose, then you have already lost!
But if you focus on winning, then you’ll be creative, you’ll start looking at ideas for what else you can do and implement in order to win and that’s when you’ll start growing continuously!
