1. How to get rid of being nervous forever.

2. How to take back control when you’re nervous.

3. How to go from being super nervous to super confident.

Being nervous is a normal thing so today we will learn how to fix everything.

Why Are You Nervous?

Before you understand how to go from being nervous to confident, you need to first understand why you might be feeling nervous in the first place! Being nervous is okay but let’s see what are the three reasons why you’re actually nervous. This is the foundation, because when you’re trying to do something, these three reasons below is what might be making you nervous:

· You are thinking about what others are going to say.

· You feel you don’t have the skill to do something.

· You are trying to bluff your way into something and you are worried they might find out.

The good thing about being nervous sometimes is, it actually allows you to think a little bit and it makes you more prepared. So if you’re nervous, just relax for now and I’m going to share with you 3 ways on how to go from being nervous to confident:

1. How to get rid of being nervous in the first place

Imagine this situation when you’re talking to someone who is a client or you’re trying to close a deal with a client and you suddenly feel nervous talking to them, right? Now, let us keep that aside for a minute. Now think about this! When you’re talking to someone who’s a loved one or a friend, you’re not nervous at all! In fact, you’re really confident and very happy even in the moments when you’re feeling like you are being yourself.

a) Be Yourself: Remember that feeling, because the reason you’re nervous in the first place is that you’re thinking what other people are going to say if you make a mistake. So big deal if you make a mistake. So what? It’s OK. When you see that your people are there and you just want to be perfect and you want to get everything right but you forget what you are thinking and eventually you stumble upon words and you mess it up; all because you’re trying to be too perfect. So understand that the answer here is “Be yourself”

b) Be Authentic: We all tend to make mistakes and that is human nature, that’s authenticity, embrace that. When you are actually entering a conversation and you start to think, “What others are going to say” just ignore all that. Think about yourself; the feelings you have when you’re talking to someone you care about. So, when you are talking to a client or trying to close a deal or just having a casual conversation, don’t even bother thinking what they might think of you; you just talk naturally, so that’s the second point, “Be Authentic” it’s okay to make certain mistakes.

2. How to take back control when you’re nervous

Now let’s say you’re talking to someone and they are asking you all these questions back to back and you’re getting nervous, wondering how to answer their questions, you are shaking, your palms are wet and you feel like you really don’t know what to say or how to go about this situation. You remember that feeling right?

Now, how to get rid of this feeling and come out of the situation is you “Break The Pattern” and just tell the person you’re talking to “Hey hang on! You’re talking a bit too fast. I can’t follow you. For me to help you, can you slow down a little bit please?” When you do this, you’re taking control of the situation and now you can use that time to breathe and think.

Let’s take another example where someone is really loud and trying to put you down. What do you do then? You say “Wait hang on; are you always this rude? Do you usually talk to people like this? You see as soon as you say that, they’ll realize and say that they did not mean to be rude and that is where you get the control back. When you get the control back, you keep asking questions, keep taking control.

One more example, can be when someone is trying to say a lot of complicated stuff, you don’t understand what they mean and they’re asking you all these details and questions to which you don’t have answers to yet! So what you do then is say “Hang on… hang on there’s so many questions out there! Let’s tackle it one by one.” You see again, what you’ve just done is you’ve taken back control over the conversation. This way you just take charge so that nervousness goes away and you are always having the upper hand and control in any situation.

3. How to go from being super nervous to super confident

Here comes the most interesting part. How do you go from being nervous to super confident is you “Practice” You just have to practice, practice and practice. You must practice until you get it right and then you practice more until you can’t get it wrong. The best thing is you can do this anytime and anywhere. So practice this technique and I guarantee you, you won’t be nervous again with anyone!

Conclusion

So, it is very simple. If you are feeling nervous talking to people especially when it’s selling your services or closing a deal and you feel like you are worried what others are going to say and you feel that you don’t have the skills, just relax and follow the three things that we discussed above on how to go from nervous to super confident. Be yourself and be authentic, always take control over the conversation and lastly practice every single day. That is it! If you do this, then you will never go back to being nervous ever again.
