3 Things to Help You Write A Book Without Experience

Have you always wanted to write a book but you don’t know where to start and you feel like you don’t have enough experience or you started writing long back but you feel stuck now? Then this blog is for you because I’m going to share three things that I’ve been going through, while writing my own book which you may relate to as well.

I had decided to write a book long back but there have been a lot of ups and downs the last few months which got me thinking if I should write a book or not. Just then, I got inspiration from one of the books I was reading, “Think and Grow Rich”.

There’s an important lesson in this book that I want to share with you that helped me in writing my book but first let me share a story behind this book for you.

Napoleon Hill spent 20 years actually researching to write this book and it’s a classic of all time! When I was reading this book I wondered how much determination and persistence he must have had to do a research for 20 years and just doing whatever it took and that’s the lesson that inspired me the most.

So, I decided to write a book in December 2019 and I had even announced to the world that it’s coming out in August 2020 and along the way I had lots of ups and downs and I was not sure if it’s a good idea to really write this book but suddenly it hit me; if he can take 20 years to write a book then what is six months to me? Nothing!

1.Keep Going:

So that’s the first lesson, “Keep going!”. You’ll face a lot of ups and downs but keep going and you will reach that destination. I’m at the early stages of writing a book. I’m declaring it to you that I am writing a book so you hold me accountable but I’m going to keep going and that’s the lesson that I learned.

2.Share Your Story Very Openly:

Now, the second lesson I learnt is very very profound. So for a long time I was thinking about what to write on and I was researching… I read other books… I got inspiration from a book like ‘Think And Grow Rich’, I got inspiration from books like the ‘The Magic Of Thinking Big’, ‘The Go Giver’ but this book really taught me the second lesson “Just Give”

The more you give, the more you will get! You might wonder, but ‘what do I give?’ I was wondering too… “What do I put in the book? What do I give in the book?”. That’s when I thought that I should combine these two books, ‘Think And Grow Rich’ and ‘The Go Giver’.

This book ‘Think And Grow Rich’ is about sharing stories and this book ‘The Go Giver’ is about giving; so if I give my personal stories to people about how I made success that would be a great story!

So I learnt my second lesson with this, “I’m going to share my story very openly in the book of the success I have achieved so one can know exactly what one can do to get that success!” I learned that I don’t have to think too much about what to write in the book because it’s my story that I’m going to share openly about the success I’ve had! So if you are on the same boat as me here and thinking about what to write in your book, just remember, ‘Write to share your story’!

3.Structuring the book:

I used to overthink about “How do I write? I know what I’m going to share, I know the title but how do I structure the book?” There are times you will feel like this and think that there’s so many missing pieces! Just imagine that you’re thinking about something so important to you and you’re like “Okay, I got a piece, now how do I put all this together so that I can convey the story in a very concise manner and to the point where I’m still adding value?” Now, maybe what’s going on in my mind, is going on in yours as well! So, the third lesson that I learnt is really ‘structuring the book’.

You see these people who have written these best sellers, they share information and thoughts like they’re sharing in the form of their stories where you can really connect to them and follow the story all along. They make you feel like you’re there in the book yourself and that’s what I want to bring out in my book as well!

When I came to Australia about 17 years ago I was nothing and along the way I’ve gone to become a world champion by winning the world champion award of ‘Closing millions of dollars in sales’. I want to show people how to close a million dollars! So, you see, that’s a good story to share; “How I got success in my corporate life… How did I build multiple businesses…” that’s a lot of success stories that I want to put in my timeline!

So if you are thinking how to get that structure, just put your stories into events in your timeline and share it to people along the way in your book! I’m going to do that; where I was and how I grew up in terms of my success so you can get success as well.

CONCLUSION

Writing a book does not have to be a complicated process. You can make it very simple and easy to complete by just keeping in mind these 3 lessons: Firstly, always keep going, it does not matter if you are making mistakes or you are feeling stuck, just keep going and finish it!

Secondly, make sure that you are sharing your stories very openly and being frank with your readers. That’s how they will connect with you and understand how your journey was and what lessons they can get out of it! Lastly, structure your book and make a timeline of the events from your life so it is easier to flow with it and complete writing your book!
